Well to all those who actually read my journals, I have a few updates to make.

First of all I am officially taking web design work. So if anyone wants a website made for any reason contact me and we can discuss what you would like and price (Not for free sorry) I only have a limited amount of time so I can only take on so many jobs. I currently have two going, which should be done soon.

One of for So keep an eye out for her online portfolio that should be coming up as soon as we agree on a template. I also may be having a couple more jobs coming up in a few weeks, so get in fast if you want the work done.

If you DO want a website, I will write up a brief for you and give you a time line. It is negotiable so feel free to barter with me .

In case you are wondering what kind of work I do I do the following

- Websites, both HTML and Flash based (For those who don't know HTML is a common website, Dev is mainly HTML, and Flash are websites that you have to wait to load with a load bar and are usually interactive) I know basic Javascript, and use CSS style sheets and Actionscript (For those who know what that is lol)

- Flash work, such a Info Graphics, Banners, ect

- Animated Avatars, Pixel AND Flash based

- Illustrations, Commission Drawings, ect

Depending on what you want depends on the price, but once again I am willing to negotiate.


SECONDLY....

WARRRRRRRR....For those of you who do not know. I have declared war upon !!!

For too long I have sat idly by and allowed this insult to humanity push me around! Too long have I put up with his roguish ways and delicious charm........I mean Bad Table manners and....uh....other MAN stuff! *coughs*

Regardless! War has been proclaimed upon this man, and war there shall be! To the victor goes to spoils, which will likely be the looser cooking dinner at the end of it (or ordering in Lucas' case, you can't cook for crap man, seriously D: )

The rules are.....THERE ARE NO RULES!!!....Rules are for pussies, and Lucas wouldn't follow them anyway so it's a waste of time. (and to make as many bad reference jokes as possible)

well once again I fail to update my journal, keeping the mysteries of my life beyond Dev.....well....mysterious?

ahem - anyway...

As you have probably suspected, I have been busy as hell. My new course has taken a large chunk of my time, but I love it. It's challenging and my teachers are brilliant. It's definitely harder than last year though, then again what can you expect from the advanced class D:

Moved flats again, something i am very good at. House is nice but it's on a tilt, it's kinda trippy actually. I have this sudden urge to invite drunk over just to watch them stumbled around in their inebriated stated and fall on their face on our gravity bending floor.
according to the previous owners (classmate of mine) it is also capable of interstellar and transformational travel on Tuesday evenings? Kinda sweet if you ask me.

On the down side we seem to have hippies living downstairs that enjoying getting in touch with their zen with the help of all natural drugs (pot) far too much. Now have you ever had a friend or someone who smoked pot in their room and never aired it out? Gets that rancid kinda rank smell about it?

well that is how our downstairs entrance smells because the house is connected by a locked door and it gets through into our place. Delightful.

oh and they have dogs - I love dogs, just not their dogs - they seem to have fleas.

regardless, I am heading home for five days to visit my parental units. I'm actually looking forward to it a ton as I love spending time with them. They are the best parents evaaahhhh. I will be catching up with a ton of friends and getting onto some jobs I have in the works making websites.

oh yes, that reminds me, if anyone wished for me to make them a website (not for free sorry) send me a note and I shall contact you.

Okay, I know I usually don't do this, but fair warning as there is a RANT about DeviantArt's double standards ahead. So if you would rather not hear it, don't read it.





Well now you have had forewarning, I am going to talk about DeviantArt's dipping standards when it comes to the Mature Content on Dev.

I am sure everyone is more than a little aware of all the PORN on this site, and I'm not talking about the fetish photography, or the artistic nudes, or even the drawings of big busted anthro woman bulging out of their scants amount of clothing. No sir I am talking about the actual PORN on this site that is pretty hard to miss even on a good day.

It is getting worse too.

Now don't get me wrong, personally I don't give two hoots about porn, seeing it doesn't offend me. I mean, I'm a healthy woman who has seen naughty bits enough times to find the term 'naughty bits' childishly comical. Yet there are people that DO, and it isn't the porn itself that offends me.

It is the way the DA staff are handling it

Anyone who has been on DA long enough had no doubt heard the age old rant about Females nudes vs Male nudes and how the staff seem overly trigger happy in deleting anything with a penis. Yet as soon as you remove that third leg and slap some bulbous boobage on the front. It becomes acceptable 'art'. Even if said boob totting bombshell is as naked as they day she was born, flashing her genitalia all over the place, Frenching another woman in an amateurish photo. It is still considered 'art' apparently?

The top one is probably a PERFECT example of what I'm talking about, because when I went to report it, I got this ---------> [link] which just about made me choke on my drink from surprise.

Apparently it has been reported THREE Times for it's content and each time the reviewing staff member said 'naw that's not porn' and gave it a sticker of approval.

Have these staff members ever seen porn? Or do they get their giggles out of letting this sort of stuff swamp DA? It is either that or they are just really, really stupid. Because I have seen content similar to this with MEN get deleted faster than you can say ' penis '.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against deleting the male pornography, but you would think the same would apply to the female? Where do these people draw the line and how to they explain their overly drastic double standards? Honestly, if one of you are reading this, for the love of God tell me. I really want to know!

It's insane.

This could all be so easily fixed if the members of the design team would just add ONE Extra feature every time they made a crazy update to the site itself. Instead of changing the look of DA and leaving us with needless glitches to deal with when the design before was perfect. Why not add an extra filter for 'explicit content'?

You already have a Mature Content filter, but why not do another for the more OBVIOUS Pornography here that you obviously find too appealing to delete for us? Heck why not go ahead and make a whole new category for it, so people know where it is instead of having it jump then while they are at work or in class or just....EVER....because it is insulting to our intelligence when you try to convince us that it isn't what we all know it is.

Even Y!Gallery, an obvious site for the production of pornography has more efficient staff than you. Sure they show porn and other questionable things, but they have rules and they STICK to those rules.

If you don't want to see something on Y!Gallery, they have conveniently added an option to FILTER it out. You click the little box with the category you wish not to view and when you browse the site, the content you don't wish to see will now be shown. Simple!

It isn't hard. If you cannot be bothered upholding your own rules on mature content, then make an options where we don't have to see it.

Wow I really am slack with these journal things, then again It's no surprise as I NEVER was

anyway, time to update with what has been going on in my life!

Well my Sister just got back from Hong Kong visiting for a few days and it sounded like she had fun. I was going to attempt to travel over myself by shoving myself in her carry-on but I apparently weight to much and would have gone over the max weight restriction....I have a sudden need to diet.

My projects have been going well and I passed my last one as did most of my class, as we all apparently exceed out Teachers expectations for a first year Web Design class. The project was pretty easy but he ended up having to give the whole class an extra week because we where going above and beyond what we needed to do to pass and he was more than happy to give us the extra time to see the results (that and he's just awesome) I'm currently working on my next one with is our individual project.

Basically we make a website and i has to have a Flesh element to it somewhere. We can make the site about whatever we want, we can even make it for an actual company if we can get a hold of someone. Me I'm making a website for and my game 'Limbo'. We have so much damn information and history for the game is seems a crime to just toss it all on a forum to read. So I've been designing a layout for it and I'm kinda proud thus far.

Other than that not much has happened. The twins I look after on the weekends had a birthday a few weeks about and are officially 2 now (oh god it's delightful x.x) My parents helped me arrange tickets to head back on the boat to Blenheim for Christmas! whoooooooo So I'll be over there with Abby and everyone, and catching up with my friends. Not to mention My sister's birthday on the 23rd (seriously, two days before Christmas D: )

well that's about it, hopefully I'll have more to blab about when I get back to my old home town....yar.
